Scimar Engineering Ltd is a small, UK R&D based company. Founded in 1987 it initially focused on instrumentation in the Scientific and Marine markets, producing electronic packages for industrial, oil and university customers, including sonar, geophysics and oceanographic measurement systems. Over the years, whilst retaining active in the marine markets, it has expanded into industrial electronics, computer peripherals, serial data isolators, and DC-DC power converters and is now particularly active in products for the Green Energy Market.

The company integrates expertise in applied physics, mechanical engineering, electronics and software, with the ability to produce most elements in house, enabling very short development times. It is also fortunate to have strong relationships with local sub-contractors, and so is able to expand its production capability as needed, and to place high volume customer work outside.

Scimar offers a range of standard products, consultancy, software services (particularly in scientific applications) and a contract design and build service, both fully and partially bespoke. Production equipment includes MyData Pick and Place, vapour phase soldering, XYZ MM560 vertical axis milling and a full suite of test equipment and ancillary workshop gear.
